Hello Queens!!!
Welcome to Week 9 of levelling it up!! ๐๐พย
As always thank you Astria for pinning these posts. It is such a pleasure to have this space and group to hold each other accountable!
For anyone not familiar or needs a refresher below are the ground rules of the thread.
This is a non-judgement free space. We want ppl to feel comfortable sharing what goals they are working on. If commenter feels that a goal someone is working on is too big please provide constructive feedback (no shaming) on how they can improve their goal
Please start a new comment when posting your goal and then ppl reply on to that persons goal. It makes it easier to be able to track it
A new thread will be posted every Monday morning and another new post on Sunday will be โreflections of the past weekโ where we will discuss the wins, challenges and action plans for Monday. So feel free to comment anytime throughout the week.
Goals can be in any area of your life that youโre wanting to level up. Some examples are health/wellness, career, school, friendships, hobbies etc
Comment down below your new and/or updated goals โบ๏ธ
Iโm feeling a bit burnt out at my job so Iโm going to be looking to either take an extended leave or just quit and travel the world for a bit. Iโm 22 with little debt and big dreams. Sometimes I get caught in the hamster wheel but likeโฆ I donโt actually have anything tying me down and Iโve got a decent savings accountโฆ I can justโฆ leave. So this week I will be researching how much this is gonna cost me, where I want to go, and how long I want to stay out. Also getting approval or putting in my notice.
Good morning, all! Happy New Week!
I do set goals for myself every week, but this is my first time posting to this thread....
Last week, I realized my sleep schedule was getting wacky, so I made a new rule for myself -- lights-out by 10 p.m.; up at 6 a.m.
But (maybe even more importantly) I realized that the REASON it was wacky was because I was reading too much crap on my phone before bedtime, going down rabbit holes, etc. Even when I was reading quality stuff, I was spending too much time on it.
So, one week ago today, I implemented a NEW RULE for myself: At 9 p.m. (one hour before bedtime), all electronic devices go down! No laptop, no TV, and especially no phone. During that one hour before bed, I just relax. I might knit. I might read a book, but that's different from reading on my phone because for some reason, with a physical book, I don't go on and on and on even after I'm terribly sleepy. (There is something about reading stuff on my phone that makes me ignore (or even not notice) my physical cues of "stop now, you're sleepy." With a book, it's easy to just put the bookmark in, put the book down and go to sleep.) Or I might do nothing at all, just sit and think. Or take a bubble bath. I'm still working out what the best activities are.
It went pretty well the first week. There was one day that I used my hour to watch a movie, but that was the day I realized that it's easy to just keep watching after my "deadline." That's when I added "TV/DVD player" to my list of things banned after 9 p.m. And there was another day when I got an (expected) phone call between 9 and 10 and I let it go on too long. But overall, it went really well, and I noticed quite a difference in my sleep quality.
So, Goal #1 for this week is to continue getting used to my new rule! I live alone, so at least I don't have to factor any other people in my house -- but I have had to let a few friends/family know about my new schedule, so if they text me after 9, I won't get back to them (or even see it) until the next morning. I do leave my phone ringer on, for actual emergencies, because that's the only reason anyone would call me that late.
Hi Queens!
Here are my goals this week:
Relationships: Read one book on divorce and preparation. (I try to read one each week.) Reorganize divorce/financial paperwork. Education: Actually order supplies needed to start school in the fall. (I've put this off for a few weeks now.) Practice at least once this week. Self Care: Read one book for fun. Zone out to a tv show or movie at least one evening this week. Body: Continue to walk for an hour each day. Continue tracking meals. Moisturize daily. Schedule a hair appointment. Friendships: Enjoy time with at least one friend this week. Call/text other friends to check in. Hobbies: Try one new hobby this week.
Hi ladies, just chiming in as hopefully this will reenforce how important it is to make sure we are taking care of ourselves: Iโm usually great with my schedule, going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, exercising daily, etc. But this week Iโve been staying up too late (nothing crazy, maybe 1-2 hours past my normal bedtime) and not exercising, and let me tell you - I FEEL it. Iโm anxious, fixating on my flaws, and desperately seeking out hits of dopamine through scrolling social media, lol. So if youโre ever feeling like shit and wondering why, make sure you are taking care of the basics, which is a regular sleep schedule and daily exercise. Because the difference I notice when I let those things fall by the wayside, even for just a few days, is huge.
1. Get back on WFPB. Iโve been eating too much vegan junk food. Find a meal planner + stick to it. 2. Iโve gotten a new job (level up aye) but start in a few weeks, so refresh skills/knowledge. 3. Heal from injury + get back into biking routine. ~50 mi at least per week. 4. Find a good anime to watch for inspiration!
Hello ladies! Below are my goals for this week: 1. Finish all of my clinical tasks every night (no leaving it till next day)- no PROCRASTINATING!! 2. Get in 1 hour early to finish updating treatment plans and review 3. Write in prayer journal for at least 5 minutes every night (will set a timer so my brain wonโt stop me from doing it) 4. Take all of my vitamins (tracking it in my online tracker) 5. Finish writing assignment for placement (classmate will receive it for review by Thursday night) 6. Send my mentor my new resume (at latest Friday night) 7. Sign up for virtual job fair (by Wednesday) 8. For Saturday, take myself on a date! ๐ฅฐ
Have to start learning a new skill for my future career goals this week. I already did this but - I finally bought a lot of stuff that I needed & made appointments. The most exciting one is registering for dance classes with my brother! Iโve been wanting to learn to dance for a long time now.
I made an appointment next week at planned parenthood for my annual exam, and to get checked for breast cancer. I had a benign tumor nearby and have breast cancer symptoms. My insurance wants me to go back to my family doctor (appointment is a month and a half away, and get a gyno referral and they're 3 months backed up) meanwhile planner parenthood offers the same appointment with availability next week. Cancer scares can't have me waiting months.
I also went online and ordered myself birth control pills through favor and requested generic plan B, and my insurance covered all of it. I'm not having sex, I don't plan on having sex, BUT abortion is illegal in my state. Having my tubes tied isn't covered. I dont want kids. So I'm taking my power back by getting on the pill AND having plan B handy in the case that anything does happen.
I'm getting my health together again and healing mentally and physically after a major operation. I have an interview next week. I'm excited. If they don't hire me, I'm gonna settle into a work from home job.
My roomate is toxic and lazy and tries sticking me on bills. I need to get working full time at one place rather than the prn mini jobs I did while sick. I am trying to get financially back on my feet (I now have a maxed out credit card thanks to tons of medical bills, appointments, and not being able to make enough money while sick for months! united states for ya). I'm selling off a lot of my own stuff and have a check coming at some point, which will take care of majority of the debt.
If I can get working I can then try to get my own place. It's the goal. A high value friend is helping keep me motivated and encouraging me. So this weekend I'm selling off more stuff and prepping to start my job. Onward and upward.
