This week begins the end of the second month of my HVW Journey! This month was focused on improving my free time, especially the time I spent on my phone. What I focused on last week was trying to avoid media that did not sit right with me (IE sexually degrading songs, shows and movies where women are objected and not real characters, etc). Trying to avoid such things really opened my eyes to how a ton of media is just made to make fun of or degrade women in a way, often hidden as "jokes". One of the challenges that I faced though this week was that I did not really spend time with my hobbies as much as I should. Instead, I mostly watched my favorite shows and played the sims. It was easy to not go on social media and mindlessly scroll, but actually developing hobbies is hard because working full time now (I finally got a job!!) and studying full time can be stressful (even though I love being busy).
Work/life balance/scheduling goal achieved! I kept my goal as a priority to finish all my homework, work, and chores before the weekend, and managed to avoid procrastinating all week. (really kept it in mind that I was doing something nice and sweet and kind for my [future] self instead of framing it as "self-discipline" cause that mindset never works for me lol) I had a lovely time just doing nothing at all in particular this weekend but resting and reading books and playing games. It was very relaxing and I needed it a lot. Hoping I can keep this up as a new habit, as it's one of my final Leveling-Up bosses in my journey to become the highly functional, graceful HVW I want to be.
1. I stayed on my training plan and cut off some low value people in my life (admittedly too late) using my buddy the block button. Oh! That includes a ghosting motherfucker who sent a message after 2.5 months. Boy, bye. 😅👋 2. Put a 12-mile run in the bag this afternoon. I truly earned my roast dinner. The last few kms were… yeh 🫣 3. I’m struggling with motivation during the last few weeks of my contract and it makes my mind wander towards recent scrotery and past haunts. Hm. 4. Distraction on steroids. I can’t tell you how grateful I have been for FDS in recent weeks to turn all my musings into posts and get clarity. I’m focusing on what i can change and that involves a change of scenery
