Anyone who has had tough-to-remove facial hair, and tried dermaplaning, how long does the effect last, and any side effects?

Late reply, but I highly recommend electrolysis for facial hair removal. There's no risk of stimulating hair growth (like with laser). Upper lip is sensitive, so I'd use numbing cream. It definitely hurts a lot more than laser. Electrolysis is expensive, but it's the only really permanent method.
I think its as long as your hair normally grows out, it's basically using an exfoliating blade to physically remove dead skin cells and hair for easier product absorption. Infection and scarring are rare, but can occur. Not much side effects. Your face may be red or irritated, but that's about it. I would go to a reputable place you trust to clean their instruments properly. I would definitely advise sunscreen to protect the newly exposed layers of skin after.I personally prefer chemical exfoliation, since it's more gentle on the skin, but there's nothing wrong with dermaplaning, if done correctly.
