I really do think a lot of men do not care at all about women and it's crazy what women have been socialised to see as normal. This is an extreme example, but low key, they show how much they hate the women they're with everyday and we've somehow normalised this behaviour. Last night, my boyfriend was randomly talking about the side of Twitter/X he avoids and how even when it seems like a positive post, he still occasionally finds himself there. He clicked a post that said something like 'Things I've learned about dating in the last 10 years', and I could see the visceral disgust on his face as he described reading comments like 'I learnt not to date women. My ex girlfriend cheated on me and you can't trust any women.' I asked him about the face, and he said very disgustedly and dismissively of such men, 'They're losers. It's such a loser mindset to take one woman and make this your negative life story. Just boohoo crying about it all the time rather than making changes and seeing it as one woman, one time.. He's just going to cry about it all his life and blame women.' See, that's how men used to react to each other. Now they seem to think they need to be in their feels all the time. My boyfriend was cheated on himself but he amicably split from his ex and has only ever spoken empathetically/neutrally about her.
To explore his reasoning some more, I asked whether perhaps men just need to vent online because they don't have friends and he had none of that.
