It's great. Highly recommend. My mental health has improved now that I am able to completely avoid browsing woman-hate content by default.
The blocking/pruning process is very satisfying. Blocking all Kardashian content and articles about plastic surgery and pseudo-scientific sexist opinion pieces, the women's self-improvement pickmeisha propaganda, "how to please your scrote" relationship articles, objectification, it's fantastic.
Now all the web articles in my news feed are interesting and don't drag me down mentally. It was a fun process, weeding out all the misogyny that gets thrown at us over the internet each day. Just wanted to share, as it was helpful to me. A small leveling up task that has benefitted me so much with very little effort expended.
Honestly not having social media is the best thing I ever done! Now that also Reddit is gone, I only have this page and use YouTube to educate myself. I’m just feeding my brain with new healthy information.
Agree!! I realized “u are what u consume” also relates to the type of media we consume. I’ve actively stopped following and also block on explore gossipy/lib fem ig accounts and followed more pets/hobbies/mental health pages and i’ve realized my instagram is so much welcoming to me when i scroll it.✊🏼
Also following too mutch mental health and spiritual talk pages can be quiet overwhelming. I like one or two pages that keeps me sane and grounded lol
Totally agree. On YouTube you can click the ellipses in the suggested feed and click "not interested" and "don't show me this". Sometimes it even asks why and you can say "irrelevant" "not interesting" "inappropriate"
Yup, if you us social media and any other content related apps you need to wield it to your advantage.
It‘s just like applying fda principles of only allowing value into your life and blocking everything else.
When I started creating side instagram profiles, the initial discovery page was horrendous and so lv. Eventually once you train the algorithm to your advantage you can have a good time.
Utilize block/ignore and don’t click on content that you don’t really care for. And if you do select block and or show me less or whatever lang it uses.
Anti-woman content pervades every single aspect of our lives. It's insidious. Sometimes, we don't even realize the messages that are being directed to us, specifically to change/influence our behavior as women. Good for you for curating your SM! It should work to your benefit, not the other way around!
Question! Can people share some queens that they follow on Instagram for inspiration?😄
Omg another that really triggers me are facebook ads for motherhood/pregnancy adverts…block block block!! Not all women wana be mothers😔
