I found this on Facebook. Not sure if it’ll let me copy and paste the whole quote with pictures but here goes:
“This is a photo of American actor Pierce Brosnan and his wife twenty years ago at the beginning of marriage and two pictures at present. When asked how he feels about her after changing her shape he said, “Friends offered her surgery to reduce her weight. But I strongly love every curve of her body. She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes. And also because she had our five children...
In the past, I truly loved her for her person, not only for her beauty, and now I’m loving her even more than she is my children’s mother, and I am very proud of her, and I always seek to be worthy of her love.”
— Hollywood Star, Pierce Brosnan
This is the concept of marrying a man who loves you ′′just the way you are′′. ♥️
I mean, I love that he loves her, but have we ever seen a story where a famous woman has to defend her man whose body changed over 20 years? I'm so fucking tired of women's bodies being treated like public property. This is not directed at you op. It's directed at the patriarchy.
Friends? I'm sure he meant enemies.
They just look like they grew up. My ex was pretty horrible to me about how I looked (after I carried, birthed and breastfed HIS baby) which left me nervous about being naked in front of another man. I once made a comment to my boyfriend about my stomach and he said, “the main clue was when you told me you had a six year old. It never occurred to me you’d look like a teenager which incidentally is not what I’m attracted to.” He wasn’t saying I was beautiful (although he says I am all the time) so much as just not fetishising youth.
A truly beautiful love story ❤️
Thank you for such a positive post. I mean, yeah, our society is sh*t but HVMs still exist. Thank you for such reminder.
