Porn is abuse. Porn is prostitution, porn harms the women who consented to it and those who didn’t. Porn harms kids, porn harms men, porn harms. Porn is not free speech, it’s not speech at all. Porn dehumanizes women. It’s racist. It’s sex trafficking. It makes bodies a commodity and is the reason sexual harassment and assault are so rampant and we don’t have a ‘sexually safe’ society. Porn ups Infidelity, divorce and broken homes. Porn teaches men that women are contemptible.
I was a fan and would direct people to ’truthaboutporn.org’ posts actual research studies and still encourage people to check it out. However, although I understand they believe that not making their site about banning porn in their minds will help open people up, the problem is that its not calling out abuse, and minimizing abuse, which is what porn is.
I’m not okay with the sexual coercion, harassment and abuse I have experienced. Porn has radicalized men and I’m not okay that some politicians and men out there feel they have the inherent right to watch women have sex they don’t want for money. When you pay for a humans sexuality you say sexuality is something that can be owned. How sick is that?
"Porn is not free speech"
If anything, porn is hate speech against women.
I agree, though I struggle with how we could realistically ban porn. There's too many sex-pos libfems who are all too happy to objectify themselves. Those are the ones keeping porn "defendable" by being it's cheerleaders.
I completely agree.
Just like for CP where it's illegal to produce, distribute, or own it, I feel something similar should be done for all porn.
South Korea has a porn ban, do they not? But what that did is caused an incredible spike in spycams in public toilets, hotel rooms, changing rooms and so on. Men live-streaming their toddlers going potty 😫. Upskirt pics taken of women in public transit. I do not recommend googling it if you are easily shocked, but the "Nth room" is what South Korea ultimately spiralled down to. I fear that the real problem is men's depraved urges. As long as men's sexuality is based on subjugation, degradation and abuse, they'll beat off to Abu Ghraib documentaries or something even if porn is made illegal.
I have completely given up hope on finding a decent man in my age group (millennial) who isn't porn-sick. I fear they all are - unless they are ultra-religious, in which case they are too busy doing meth with male prostitutes to be watching anything... thank god for 4B.
