The FDS forum seems to be more heavily moderated than it previously was by admins and by posters passionately up- and downvoting. With more users, there also seems to be an increase in both higher and and lower quality posts.
Since the forum is probably growing and attracting more attention, would it be a good point in time to begin an editorial and proofreading process? This could help level up content, make it more readable and articulate, and make sure topics are new, actually interesting, and on point instead of years old, tired, or difficult to read or understand.
How about FDS creating original content? The podcast is good. Why not branch out to written opinion pieces, news briefs, news videos, comics, art, start a band.
Run for office, too. :)
There is a good thing going on that really isn't going on in many other places, but it would be a shame to see low quality content drag it down.
To my understanding, the higher quality/favourite Posts are in fact curated and published, as articles, on the main site, ie separate to the forum. (May have to be a verified user for your posts to be considered for that, though I can't remember for certain). In terms of curation/editing of the forum itself, I think that is not what a forum is. A forum is a crowd sourced/community/user content platform/space. If you would like to volunteer to help moderate, I think the admin team recently put a call out for that. I do wish that the block/screen/self curating functionality of the forum was more robust, personally . But it is still fairly new and I think wix (the platform it's built on) still has its limitations. If you have other qus/suggestions, maybe consider pitting them &/or this post in the ask the admin category. If you'd like to see the quality improve, you can also contribute your own high quality posts.
I’d just appreciate if people stopped writing a wall of text for a post.
Use paragraphs, ladies!
