I don't have the dating experience that others may have here, but one of the posts I just read here about a woman who has a new BF and wants to go away for a month made me think - is it often that a potential BF suddenly acts different once they become your actual BF, making you feel like it's harder to get out of the relationship, than if you were just un-official? I don't trust a man not to do this once they think they've settled into the relationship, let alone marriage.

It is so frequent that a man changes when he thinks he can get away with it. If it takes a while to happen, the victim can easily regard the red flags as “out of character” and not the man he really is. This is something he is counting on to give her that tolerable level of permanent unhappiness. I don’t know why men don’t want women to be happy because they benefit from women being happy. If their goal is to exploit a woman’s energy and money, a woman’s happiness could be regarded as sign she’s not working hard enough? Hmm.
