What do you hold on to as we watch misogynists who see us as farm animals and misogynists who see us as fetish wear argue over what we are?
As someone who exists in a female body, what is your relationship to sex / gender? What does womanhood mean to you?
A woman is an adult human female. Woman is me and I am woman. When we get into the whole “womanhood is being strong, nurturing, blah blah blah” that’s when we lose the plot in my opinion, because then what, a man who says he’s that can now also be a woman? Of course not. Let’s get back to basics. A woman is a woman. Full stop. I’ll say what I love about being a woman, is our sisterhood with each other. That unspoken love and compassion we have for each other. I love how as women, we could meet 5 seconds ago and be so open and loving and helpful to each other, expecting nothing in return. There’s just a mutual understanding and openness that men will unfortunately never experience.
