looks like she’s changed her mind?

How do you respond to people who claim there is “ethical porn”? I guess I would rather watch porn made by women, for women because it’s far less degrading and violent than male directed porn. However I feel like porn consumption and feeding the industry at all isn’t worth it, I don’t know.
I’m sad because this used to be her thoughts:
We can’t truly know how ethical “ethical porn” is. The act agreeable on camera and at conventions etc, but years after leaving the industry they’ll talk about the abuse, the stigma, how they were coerced into things they didn’t consent to, the drugs, they weren’t paid fairly, how they didn’t realise x,y,z was problematic at the time, how they only started because they were desperate for money etc. (These women are also horrendously bullied for speaking out.) The nature and appeal of porn is that it’s exploitative so even on platforms like OnlyFans where creators are supposed to be in control, if you don’t pander to your fans then they stop subbing, and the women truly desperate for money will have to break their own boundaries.
There’s nothing ethical about porn and the people who watch it are low value. I used to watch explicit gifs of women being eaten out when I was a dumb virgin who didn’t know any better, but now that I’ve actually had sexual experiences porn just looks like degrading trash to me. It’s not real, it’s objectifying, and I know that the sex wouldn’t feel good at all at the angles they’re going at. It’s not sexy at all. It’s a waste of time and money. Truly nothing more than a scrote’s and pickme’s hobby where instead of using their time to be better, they ruin their sexuality and break their dicks and clits. The ultimate low value couple activity tho. Honestly, I have looked at porn recently just to see what’s on the home page and absolutely zero of it turned me on. When you scroll it plays little clips and it just made me cringe. It was just degrading trash. I am trying to think about who this appeals to and I can’t imagine how broken their mind and body must be. Definitely not someone I’d want around my family nor around me. The whole culture of porn is disgusting and at it’s core low value. There’s so many better things people could be doing and to me there’s nothing empowering about “feminist” porn either, it’s just as objectifying, degrading, creepy, and low value. Only the most repulsive people would ever try to defend watching porn when they know the kind of harm it’s doing. Decent people have better things to do and actual relationships to invest in.
This is sad. Googling "Rashida Jones" and "Porn" tells you everything you need to know about this industry. In my experience you can't argue with people who watch or normalize porn. The science and testemonies from victims are there.

I didn’t see anything where she said she changed her mind “about porn”. All I read was her saying that she stayed home (instead of go out) and watched porn (instead of having sex with a bf) when she was a teenager. NYT is a paywall so maybe it’s in there? With that said, I think ethical (I’d probably use a different word) porn could have it’s merits so long as the patriarchy doesn’t get its grimy hands on it. As it currently stands, just about anything we do that maximizes the female benefit, for women, by women, typically gets infiltrated by degradation and objectification. Genuine, unfiltered by men, erotica for women, however, can be very useful in maximizing our sexual pleasure and benefit. I read a lot of lesbian erotica when I was much younger, and I learned a lot about my anatomy and what I find pleasurable. I was able to explore and discover what my body prefers *before* sharing my body with someone else and attempting clumsily to learn my pleasure zones with another person, who may or may not be the safest person to do that with. I think this is a great topic and I hope it gets some traction. Thanks for posting:)
