Hello Queens!!
It’s time for our Sunday reflections. 🥰
This is a dedicated post each week reflecting on how our last week goals went.
Please feel to talk about any of the following:
Reflect on how it went with working on your goals
Your “win” for the week
Your “speed bump/challenge” this past week (relating to goal or not)
Strategy(s) to address challenges/goal
Stay tuned for tomorrow (Mondays) post where we can list our updated/new goals for the week ☺️
I had a hard, hard day Wednesday when I put my cat Chloe down. Cried all day but she had only just started to suffer with kidney failure and I knew I would leave soon for several months. I held her close and she went so peacefully. I had had her for 11+ years. She had been dropped off pregnant 🤬, then rescued again. But then the woman she bonded with got sick and died in hospital so Chloe felt abandoned again. It took her six months to come out and let me pet her. I had never been bonded as close as I had with her. Glad I have another cat who’s also a senior citizen but still quite spry and vocal and adorably naughty. I leave 1 Sept, this Thurs for three months in Spain!
Well I didn't get to call the doctors this week, but at least I was able to finish organizing😊
Recognizing where I’m going wrong and being motivated to do something about it.
Worked on upskilling this week:
Created some new project management templates to use and share: gantt charts, sprint planning sheets, budget analysis forms, etc.
Practiced Spanish for traveling and touring with Duolingo
Took a few short video courses on vanguard ETFs. I decided VTI needs to be an important fund in my portfolio and will use DCA to gain more of it.
Good things that happened this week:
Received a check for a project I contributed to but forgot about. This brings me closer to my savings goal for my winter sabbatical
I went walking outdoors every day this past week. It’s not as hot anymore and I’m looking forward to Autumn
What I need to work on:
Consistency in goal completion. I think time blocking my personal schedule outside of work will help.
Reading. I'm capable of reading 50-100 pages a day before bed and just need to do it.
Transitioning off of reddit.
Win for the week is recovering from COVID! Which is the reason why I've been MIA these days. I'm on day 13 and while I'm still positive, my throat no longer itches and fever is adios, sayonara, and goodbye. The past week has been brutal and it made me rediscover and appreciate the women in my life. I also managed to squeeze in a few minutes to work on my novel. It's going slow and it doesn't matter. As long as I'm moving. 😊
Hey ladies. Sorry for the late update but below is my reflection. My win was taking the steps towards addressing the difficult feelings, imposter syndrome I have job searching as a soon to be practicing clinician my. I had a great session with my counsellor where we worked on restructuring my thoughts towards working as new clinician, resources/strategies on what to do when I start to feel this way. My challenge is that I am in the process of moving out of my grad house (sharing a house with other women in STEM) and living back at home while I job hunt. I recognize the privilege and I am appreciate of the luxury of having this space. But I’ve changed a lot in the last 2 years and so I’m preparing myself for when I attend service and circles and the conversations I’ll have to have with the community.
