I went to a meetup event through an all women group this morning because I want to make more female friends. I met this girl and she seemed nice enough. We get to talking about her husband and she tells me she's actually the one who proposed to him, after eleven years of dating.
I almost died of second hand cringe!! Like what girl? Even if I proposed to a man (which I never would) I would take that information to my fucking grave.
There is no way we can be friends right?
After 11 years she had to propose cause dude was never going to.
I can't help but feel like her husband saw her as a placeholder. He probably ultimately agreed to marry her as he failed to attract a woman he liked more.
You're obviously well within your rights to not want pickme friends at all. But I do think there's a difference between women who are pickme actively to the detriment of other women and women who are kind but just misguided. If you like her otherwise might be worth seeing which she is.
But yeah I had a burgeoning friendship I let fizzle out because she was a major pickme (the whole story is in my post history) so I getcha.
That's embarrassing. She proposed to him, is she gonna wipe his ass too? Jesus Christ.
After 10 years of dating and him hinting he wants to have a child I told him I was going to the gynecologist to check my heath and we can start trying. I never wanted children but I was ready for that sacrifice. I even changed the course of my career and I am not sure how to rebuild from that epic fail just to accomodate a child. In return, as I was leaving the house to said appointment with the gyn, said "I want to know if you're healthy enough". I should have left him that very moment. But instead I ruined my career, my health and I was close to proposing to him.
I can totally understand that girl. I stayed 8 more years afterwards.
That poor woman. Pitiable. How embarassing for her.
offff how awkys
I don't see it as impossible, although she may certainly look unfavorably upon you if she ever asks you about any kind of marital status.
Really, though, she proposed. Had to. After Eleven years. He was too lazy. Yikes, that is SAD.
Stop referring to a woman as a "girl". You sound just like all the scrotes who refer to full-grown women as "girls".
Your language disgusts me.
