this is so amazing, thank you for creating this.

is anyone else here studying machine learning algorithms?

i'm working on a project at freecodecamp and am trying to train an image generator.

it's rough, but it's actually really satisfying writing code.

i'm really proud of myself...i've been studying for about a year and feel like i am barely making any progress. it almost literally physically hurts, but i keep coming back to it and trying to do a little bit at a time. i am tired of living in poverty and hope to find a regular, remote software engineering job.

my issue is that i recently started bonding with a younger guy who is--you guessed it--a software engineer. so now it feels like i am competing with him. my hormones are clouding my judgement, and i am trying so hard to stay focused.

anyway, thank you for reading this and for being here.

Closely related, but I am doing a set of online courses from Coursera on Deep Learning and AI (not free, unfortunately). I love them because they are so beginner friendly and simply focus on the important concepts. They are not good if you want to practice the nitty grittys of coding, though. But my reasoning is, get the fundamentals down first so I won't be intimidated by all the complicated details later on.

You should be proud of yourself! The rewards of learning hard things are equally sweet. As for the competition, it sounds cliche, but try to center your own learning growth and stop worrying about him and his talents. In the long run, you should have a solid foundation and core within yourself. Keep trying to focus, eventually the hormones will settle! He is insignificant in your entire whole big life
