This year, as I do some early Christmas shopping, I'm thankful to have met so many people. Some were great, some not so much.
But I'm happy to have the ones that I like in my life.
I started buying gifts in college. Despite people coming and going from my life, my pile of gifts gets bigger every year!
This year is particularly the biggest as I have to budget for the first time ever. Never in my life would I have thought to be at such a moment. I'm still buying more gifts as I'm missing two dolls and some candy for my nieces. I'm so close to finishing, I can't wait to wrap all my gifts. As you can tell. My love language is through giving and receiving gifts. Lol In a way, whoever gets a gift from me plays a part of my life.
It's crazy to think, but I'll be giving out presents to:
Work friends/Colleagues
Friends from different social circles
Close friends
Really close friends
Family
A year ago, I had my parents and maybe 1 friend (that did not celebrate Christmas) to give gifts to. Now, I have so many. I believe that it took work to maintain and choose to be in these relationships.
For once, I have people in my life. There was never a problem with me. Slowly but surely I hope that I can continue meeting people, have meaningful connections, and find my special someone, I feel like I'm getting closer every time that I meet new people and make more connections.
I love this!! I’m big into the Christmas gifting spirit and try to get nice things for my friends and family - especially those that need to be spoiled to encourage high standards when they start dating (like I’m giving them the HVM treatment). This year I’ve also decided to write Christmas cards too, to save my spending for my closer circle but to still do something nice for others around me. I like to think it reinforces the many great relationships I've curated this year and show them how grateful I am. I can definitely see how the pandemic has changed the way we socialise and how it’s isolated a lot of us so I feel these kinds of gestures are great for those giving AND receiving.
