I'm sick of homeless men asking me to give them a dollar. Actually, sometimes they don't ask; they demand I give them a dollar.

No, sir. You get off your addiction and apply to the following jobs, and they won't be glamorous, but they help you to get your life together: construction worker, plumber, Uber driver, waste collector, janitor, etc. These jobs exist for a reason. Someone needs to do these jobs to keep society functioning.

The most common background of homeless men in my country is not "poor innocent victim of the cruel capitalistic state" but "unemployed addict with severe behavioral and mental health problems who was kicked out by his family, alienated all of his friends and who is completely unwilling to cooperate with any of the people, organizations or official programs trying to help him".
We have a strong social net here. If you apply and follow very few simple rules like basic cooperation with authorities and not acting like a fucking animal, the state will pay for your housing, living expenses and medical care for the rest of your life if you truly can't provide for yourself. If you truly want to get off the streets there are social workers willing and able to guide you through the whole process in every city. These men don't want that.
There is usually a drug addiction or mental illness going on. For women, they're often abuse victims.
There is the rare case of the person who just doesn't want to pay rent, and they're working, but that's rare.
This brings back to this video I saw years back on how there was this women who passed by a certain area often, she found a homeless man, felt bad for him, this woman practically adopted this man as if he was a stray dog and took him to HER home, helped him clean up, find him a job, make him food, etc and they ended up "falling in love"
IF i'm not mistaken, I think he ended up leaving her or cheating later on.
Trades is constantly hiring in my city. They'll hire any man. Just walk on site and ask for a job.
