This might be controversial, but in early 2021 I stopped watching the news. I do not consume it now at all. I realized that it was only upsetting me, causing me stress, and I was being bombarded with horrific stories that I had no control over. The human mind was not built to take in news 24/7. If you struggle with consuming too much news, consider ways that you can stay informed but without causing yourself so much distress. I like what the article below says, particularly this part: "Since turning off all the news channels in my house I have been able to tune in to my intuition and gut feelings more. The less I have consumed other people’s opinions on world events, the more I can hear the whispers of my soul."
