My only deck is a narrative deck: Tarot of The Haunted House by Sasha Graham, illustrated in the tradition of gothic romance paperback novels of the 1960s & 70s. It spoke to me because I love old horror films.
I did a simple 3 card spread per the deck's guidebook. Here's what I pulled:
Card 1 = A fear to be discarded: 8 Strength
"Power, kindness, discipline, gentleness, patience, prowess, composure, fortitude, endurance."
Card 2 = An action to be taken: 3 of Wands
"It is time to set plans into action, you can sit on the sidelines no longer. Move forth. Creativity, venture, putting plans to work."

Wow, I love it! This reading reminds me of my new years resolution: to embrace the failure that comes with starting something new. Basically to embrace being bad at the new things I try- to discard my perfectionist tendencies and take on new challenges with good humor and joy
That's definitely how I read your 1st card- to disregard strength. I read it as to disregard perfectionism or your image of strength to allow yourself to be vulnerable and to be a beginner
