I just wanted to share that I very recently came across the work of Jennie Young who has a PHD in rhetoric and language, which she used to decode dating app profiles, the idea being that you weed out the losers before you waste your time on them. She has also tried to game the gamified apps by "burning the haystack to the ground" by blocking all the men who are not suitable so they don't get re-issued. It's called The Burned Haystack Dating Method... there is a Huff Post aritcle that she wrote and a facebook page. It's quite interesting, and makes a lot of sense... She's an engaging read...

I've burned through so much hay on OLD I'm not convinced a needle is in there. My time is better spent not looking for it.
So she still hasn't found her life partner.
IDK this kinda sounds like AA for people who are still actively drinking. A place for online daters to get together and vent about the problems they're having with forums, set new intentions, and then go back to the same vice that is causing all of their problems.
I just don't think there are any redeeming qualities in online dating. It's seen as free prostitution by way too many men now.
I've always been doing it this way. The needles aren't there 😂
I enjoyed her article and I love the approach she takes to camaraderie and trouble shooting in the Facebook group she set up. She does also refer to having been in a 2-year relationship from her revised approach (one that ended in friendship) so I think her take is refreshing even if she isn’t partnered.
Ultimately whilst I’m very skeptical of OLD, I think women need support in this space so I’m here for it.
I love seeing this in huff (mainstream). i hope women in age brackets younger than the author will read it, too....
