As 2022 comes to an end, I've been reflecting on what a transformative year it's been for me. This time last year, in 2021, I was unravelling and in a full blown breakdown after a man I'd developed intense, limerent feelings for stopped speaking to me and ghosted me. I blocked him everywhere on social media and started my self-love and healing journey.
This year, I fell in love with tarot, found goddess spirituality, started losing weight and taking better care of my body, deepened my friendships, maintained a consistent meditation practice, got into mindfulness, and reconnected to writing and my creativity. I woke up every single day with a broken heart, but I chose myself even in the moments when the pain was unbearable. I didn't give in. I used the heartbreak to change my life and transform myself in beautiful ways. I prioritized positivity and connection and healing and love.
That doesn't mean every day was perfect. I am a caregiver for my disabled mom, and you better believe my life is difficult. I've struggled with anger, loneliness, stress, isolation, and a sense of emptiness as well. I've been to the depths of agony this year, but what matters is that I fought for myself. I fought for my peace. I affirmed myself and my value. I didn't go to addictive behaviors. I didn't become self-destructive. I chose to not be defeated by my demons.
I am proud of myself. No matter what you've accomplished this year, even if it seems small, please be proud of yourself. Celebrate yourself. You deserve it.
Because of the healing journey I've been on, I've used lots of apps to improve my life and help me take care of my emotional wellbeing. They've been essential to my growth and self-improvement. I wanted to make a post of all these apps and share them with you ladies in case they are beneficial to you. All of them are on Android, but you might find them for iPhone as well. Some of these apps are free and some are not. I'll indicate that beside each one.
I use all of these apps because they help me improve my life in some way, whether it's being able to save healthy recipes with Whisk, read positive affirmations with Believe, listen to audiobooks with Scribd, save book highlights with Readwise, or track my moods with Daylio.
Also, I've created two groups that might interest some of you. One group is about Feminist Spirituality. The other group is for sharing Self-Care Resources and Tips. Let's continue to support each other and find ways to improve our lives and level up.
Please share apps you love in the comments!
